Red Boat, Thailand, 2003 Thailand, I heard, was going to be a hot and humid country to work in, but I was not expecting it to the degree that it was. Landing in Bangkok was like landing in the Peruvian jungles of the Amazon. Being from the dry southern California area I find that humidity drains my energy immensely. I still have to work so I do. Five minutes walking, 15 minutes cooling down, at least for the first two weeks until I get used to it. I then went north to the mountainous Chaing Mai region and then south to the tourist beaches of Phukett. I hired a private car and driver, which was cheaper than renting a car, and headed out to work places off the beaten path. This scene was on a small island south of Phukett by a days drive.
