This is where I formulated, and proved, the 'hungry mosquito theory'. I put on plenty of mosquito repellant, tons, for on the rainy side of the islands they really flourish. Too boot, these gardens had ponds all around, that exacerbated the problem, as you could imagine. Well, there were so many I was breathing them in, getting them in the camera when I changed film, etc.. And lo and behold a couple of them bit me, while hundreds of their brethren just bounced along my face, hands and arms, unwilling to go through whatever is in the stuff to bite me. I figured that no matter how much you have on, one or two are so hungry you're done for! Thus the theory, unfortunately, was proven true. — at Helani Gardens. So I'll re-post it here for you folks. Many of my pieces were 'jobbed out' years ago, to be scanned up uploaded to my site before I knew how to do it myself, thus they were cropped smaller than what really showed, basically ruining them in a way.
