"Man emerges, Perugia, Umbria, Italy, 2004"

Sponsored by David & Carol Goodell of Del Mar, California.

Having to climb up/ stand/ balance on a narrow brick railing overlooking the street two stories below (I hate this part, but I also have to get them perfect- you can see the other railing in the photo) was necessary to get the right angle for this image. It all means nothing if the composition does not end up 'feeling right', right? Anyway, it was fine as long as I did not look down ;-/

The man emerging was 'bonus material' as I call it, as I had no idea he would come out just after I got all set up the way I wanted it, compositionally speaking. As usual, my style dictates a 'ghostly' person as I never shoot less than a second, usually closed all the way down for better depth of field (f/32 or f/45). A 40mm wide angle Hassy lens was used, (equaling about a 28 mm on 35mm cameras).
