The Pitch. That is the means by which someone tries their best to sell someone else on a product or idea. In this case the pitch was to sell the strolling tourists on their restaurants’ attributes over the others in the area. This man had it over many of the other ‘pitchers’ in that he was so well dressed. (Best I’ve ever seen for this kind of job actually). Towards the end of the month I found myself working nights more. This was so I could capture a far different face of the city than daytime or twilight revealed of Venice. Fresh rain added a surface of vitality to my canvas (the scene) that would have otherwise been much more drab. The pitch was really just the right ‘bonus material’ to make a good image even better, meaning I did not plan to capture that facet of life when I initially saw the place and started to set up. The light and the scene grabbed my attention, artistic juices flowed, and then serendipity happened.
