We will have an opportunity to shoot so many great scenes
due to all of the churches, villages and medieval ruins that pepper the
area, as well as visit some local 'agro-tourismo' (farm/vineyard
combinations).
The region has produced great italian artists, such as Botticello, Michelangelo
and Leonardo da Vinci. Cities such as San Gimignano, Florence, Volterra
and Siena are filled with incredible architecture, and there is no end to
the beauty of the surrounding countryside. We'll explore/photograph much of of what
these cities have to offer, as we'll as the smaller town in the region of Chianti, south
of Siena.
Our accommodations will be classic in
style, not to mention clean and comfortable, and the food will be out of
this world. As Michael says, "God gives you your taste buds back when
you cross over the border into Italy".
ITINERARY
Day 1 - Photographers arrive in Florence and transfer to hotel. We
will meet you at the hotel for and have a 'Welcome' reception. We'll be
staying close to the Ponte Vecchio in the heart of Florence, which is the
center of the main part of the city.
(D) Overnight Accommodations- Best Western Grand Hotel Adriatico
Day 2 - 3 - We'll enjoy three full days in Florence, photographing
the River Arno and the bridges along it, the beautiful light along it at
sunrise and sunset and capturing aerial perspectives of the city from the
Duomo! As everything is centrally located we'll explore the city on foot.
We'll often get off the beaten path to explore the visually attractive the
leather markets, artisan studios and other hidden treasures. A city's
worth of sculpted and painted treasures are housed in the Uffizi museum, and
the Galleria dell Academia, which we will visit. A must is Michelanglo's
David of course.
(B,L,D) Overnight Accommodations - Best Western Grand Hotel Adriatico
Day 4 - After breakfast and a last morning to explore Florence, we'll
head southward, to the heart of the Chianti region, our base for four days
of exploration in the countryside surrounding our country hotel.
(B,L,D) Overnight Accommodations - Villa Rosa di Boscorotondo.
Day 5 - 8 - Our days will be spent exploring and photographing the
landscape, the medieval structures, and the villages of this beautiful area
of Tuscany.
(B,L,D) Overnight Accommodations -Villa Rosa di Boscorotondo
Day 9 - 11- Ever wanting for more scenic views and photo opportunties,
we'll leave behind the Chianti region and move into a beautiful, area south
of Siena, the heart of central Tuscany. Here, hill towns abound, each with
their own special 'flavor', and their own views. From our base at a country
hotel, we'll head out daily to explore the Crete Senese, rolling hills of
rich farmland, along the Val d'Orcia, a picturesque valley region, and the
villages in this incredibly scenic area. We'll visit Montalcino, Pienza,
Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore; we'll walk the quaint streets of Chiusure,
and Asciano; will seek out views of classic cypress trees lining ridges and
drives to farmhouses.
(B,L,D) Overnight Accommodations - IL Giglio
Day 12 - After breakfast, we'll take a scenic drive back to Florence,
arriving in mid-afternoon, in time for a rest, last chance to shop, and
photograph the final sunset of our trip. A 'farewell' dinner will bring the
tour to a close.

Note: As always, we must note that some changes may
have to be made, but the quality will remain the same. Final itinerary
will generally be sent out with deposit. |
